The words “Digital Nomad” mean so many things today. Read here if you want to know what they mean to me as a digital nomad mum. As more industries embrace remote work, the workplace is being redefined and the digital nomad community is growing. As the digital nomad community grows, more events are created to serve digital nomads and bring us together from all over the world. Here are some key digital nomad events in 2018 that you don’t want to miss. Whether you’ve been like me a digital nomad for years or you are thinking about making the leap, check your calendar and book at least one of these digital nomad events in 2018!
Digital Nomad Events in 2018 – March
CoworkInn Kite Camp – March 12 – March 26, Dahab, Egypt
This two-week event is for digital nomads who like kite surfing or want to try it out. CoworkInn Dahab is the first coworking space on the Red Sea in Egypt, offering creativity and collaboration opportunities for digital nomads. Next door to the coworking space, there is also a coliving community that includes overnight accommodation, co-working space, and wifi.
Digital Nomad Events in April
- DNX Camp – Health Edition/German – April 4 – April 17 – Bali, Indonesia
DNX was founded in 2012 to help establish connections in the fledgling digital nomad scene. They organize several events, as well as a podcast, throughout the year to bring digital nomads together. This German-language conference in Bali has a health focus, which is sometimes surprisingly easy for digital nomads to neglect! Over two weeks, you’ll be with up to 30 other digital nomads in a cool location, gaining motivation and inspiration for your online business or business idea. There will be daily goal check-ins, coworking, networking, detox, mindfulness, healthy lifestyle tips, plus all the fun of being in Bali!
- Nomad Cruise 6 – Mediterranean Edition – April 14 – April 23 – Mediterranean Sea
Nomad Cruise will start another epic journey on a cruise ship. This time they will be cruising the Mediterranean Sea and promise ‘the best speaker line-up we’ve seen so far’. Digital Nomad Events in May
Coworkation – May 23 – May 31 – Sierra Leone
Coworkations are inspirational coworking retreats set in stunning locations around the world. Coworkation retreats are one to two-week trips designed for location independent entrepreneurs. During these events, digital nomads enjoy everything needed to keep their business running while also taking advantage of luxury villas, infinity pools, beachside bars and cafes all over the world. Coworkation is all about blending your passion for travel and your passion for work. The Sierra Leone coworkation has a running theme, where attendees join a 5K, 10K or marathon and visit the different villages and causes around Sierra Leone that are directly being helping with the money raised via the marathon.
Digital Nomad Events in June
- Remote Work Summit – May 31st – June 4th – San Marcos La Laguna, Guatemala
This is a leadership conference for those leading distributed teams or teams of digital nomads. 100% of the content and activities are focused on the challenges leading geographically distributed teams. Participants will attend leadership and team-building sessions, company culture sessions and will embark on cultural and natural immersion excursions in the host country of Guatemala. In addition, proceeds from the summit are donated to local community programs in San Marcos La Laguna. Conference attendance is by invitation only, but you may apply for an invitation.
- Coworkation – June 7 – June 12 – Koh Samui, Thailand
Connect with entrepreneurs, freelancers, creatives as you enjoy the island of Koh Samui. Each day you will explore different areas of the island, and bring your laptop to work beachside or poolside.
- Coworkation – June 18 – June 24 – Tuscany, Italy
The Tuscan coworkation is all about lifestyle design. Set in the sun-drenched vineyards of Italy, participants will look at life on a holistic level, taking into account all facets of work and play.
- Running Remote – June 23rd – June 24th – Bali, Indonesia
This conference also focuses on leadership skills for geographically distributed teams. Attendees will meet and listen to remote work experts from companies like Buffer, GitHub, GitLab, and others. If you’ve grown your digital nomad business to include a team of employees, you’ll want to attend this conference for practical advice from CEO’s, founders and project managers who build and manage remote teams.

- Coworkation – July 18 – July 24 – Grimentz, Switzerland
The Swiss coworkation is focused on using nature to supercharge your brain, your work, and your life. There is no place better than the Swiss Alps to find that balance between work and play!
- TBEX Travel Blog Exchange – July 26 – July 28 – Ostrava, the Czech Republic
Not directly one of the classical digital nomad events but many digital nomads also have a travel blog aside or even as their main income source. So even if you do it full-time or just as a hobby, this event connects you with like-minded travel junkies and the industry alike. Great for networking and learning the state-of-art of blogging. Digital Nomad Events in August
WFA/Work From Anywhere – August 19th – August 25th – French Alps
For newer digital nomads, this event promises to help you “integrate work and life as one.” Led by Andy Willis, founder of WFA.life and cycle tour specialist, participants will enjoy six nights and seven days of active travel in the French Alp town of Le Bourg-d’Oisans.

- Coworkation – September 1 – September 7 – Bali, Indonesia
This is the coworkation for digital nomads seeking inspiration in their work or life. This magical destination exudes peace and serenity and is a perfect place to get into a state of flow and will fill you with inspiration!
- Nomad Summit – September 1 – September 3 – Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
A mix of workshops, talks and plenty of time to network and party. Nomad Summit is in its 4th year where hundreds of digital nomads, location independent professionals, entrepreneurs and remote workers get together to connect and learn from each other. Next year, they’ll be back in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
- TravelCon – September 20th – September 22nd – Austin, Texas, USA
For Digital Nomads in the travel industry, this inaugural event from Nomadic Matt, an original digital nomad, promises to bring key travel media professionals together for three days of networking and education. Set in the super hip city of Austin means you will want to book time before or after the conference to explore this southern gem.
- DNX Festival – September 22 – September 23 – Lisbon, Portugal
The DNX Festival is billed as the Mega Event for digital nomads and online entrepreneurs pursuing a holistic lifestyle. Over just two days in Lisbon, you’ll hear from ten keynote speakers, 20 workshops and mastermind sessions, plus networking opportunities with up to 800 other digital nomads.
Digital Nomad Events in October
- SynerFest SynerVillage – October 1st – October 7th – Valencia, Spain
“Where digital nomads come to work, co-live and co-learn.” SynerFest is a festival focused on the intersection of art and science, designed to illustrate the importance of education by encouraging 21st-century skills that include collaboration, teamwork, creativity, imagination and critical thinking.
- Coworkation – October 1 – October 14 – Morocco
The theme of this coworkation is “digital nomads making videos” so it’s perfect for travel vloggers, travel bloggers looking to step up their video skills, or those looking to harness the power of video for your business or website.
- Virtual Working Summit – October
This five-day virtual event brings together virtual working professionals from around the globe for recorded interviews with hand-picked expert speakers on remote work. The speakers will provide tools and techniques for you to enhance your relationships and efficiency with your remote clients, customers or co-workers.
- 7in7 Digital Nomad Conference – October 16 – October 23 – Medellin, Colombia
The 7in7 Digital Nomad Conference aims to have 7 conferences on 7 continents. This is the third year, after Asia and Europe in the first two years. This conference is exclusively for digital nomads who have been location independent for at least one year. Only 100 attendees are accepted, in order to keep the sessions intimate and engaging. Following a week of speakers, panels, workshops, breakout sessions, parties and volunteer opportunities, up 15 digital nomads can attend a post-conference retreat at a tropical forest villa, complete with on-site chef and yoga sessions!
- DNX Camp – German – October – Camp Dahab, Egypt
Another DNX Camp for German language digital nomads, this time in Egypt! You will spend two weeks with other digital nomads in a cool location in the sun and the sea and gain motivation and inspiration for your online business. Coworking, Coliving, Workshops, Sports Activities & Healthy Lifestyle with exciting, creative people from the unique DNX community. Every day starts with a yoga session and ends with dinner followed by live music or karaoke.
Digital Nomad Events in November
- DNX Camp – November 1st – November 10th – Jericoacoara, Brazil
Similar to the other DNX Camps, this one is for English speaking digital nomads and takes place in the remote Brazilian village of Jericoacoara. In addition to daily workshops and coworking, you’ll have the opportunity to kite-surf, wind-surf, ride dune buggies or go horseback riding! Overnight accommodation is in a beautiful villa by the beach.
- Coworkation – November 11 – November 17 – Canary Islands
This is billed as the “Coworkation for Good” where digital nomads can travel with a purpose, using their skills to help others.
